It all starts with day ONE!

So I am certainly not the first person to ever start on a new journey to better my health. And of course, there are others out there that have let it get out of control, as I have. Let me start this by introducing myself.

I'm Dorsey. I'm a 51 year old married woman with two grown children. I have not been very active in terms of exercise for quite some time. I lead a far more sedentary lifestyle than I know I should. I do not work outside the home. I have a horrible weakness for fast easy foods that I know are not good for me. I am lactose intolerant, but I take a dairy aid most times rather than just avoiding the offending treats. I weigh over 300 pounds and am roughly 5'10" tall. I have somewhat weak knees due to osteoarthritis.

Starting in about a week, I will be taking a GLP-1 medication to aid in my journey. I have also decided to utilize Google docs to keep a personal journal. I'm writing down food/liquid intakes, how I'm feeling, if/when I wake up in the middle of the night, etc... I thought about doing this with paper and pen, but then I realized that I would probably have a harder time keeping up with this and find myself leaving it behind on occasion, so digital it is. I am rarely without my phone, so fingers crossed I keep up with it much better this way!

Today was a blah kind of day. I woke up around 4:30am with some stomach issues and multiple trips to the bathroom over the course of about 45 minutes. I was able to get back to sleep, and woke up around 9am this morning with a headache. I took some Advil and it has somewhat subsided over the course of the day. No dairy today. Yay! I've only been drinking water today, no Dr. Pepper, or any other "kidney stone" drinks (as my husband refers to them). I have not exercised today, but I have worked towards getting our finances under control. Let's hope all this helps to get not only my physical health, but also my mental health into a much better place!
